Some Background Information and Examples: Your electronic portfolio is going to be very personal, reflecting your own objectives, field of study, and andience. Therefore, your electronic portfolio will be unique, designed specifically for you. However, it is helpful to begin your thinking by looking at a lot of examples, even ones from fields other than your own.
This site, http://www.uwrf.edu/ccs/portfolio_sample.htm , from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls includes a good description of why you would want to use an electronic portfolio as well as links to examples from a range of majors.
http://www.renie.com/ - This is an interesting portfolio (site, really) by a fashion illustrator/designer. Check out the components included, such as the discussion group included. See what you think and how you react to the organization. http://www.xtinagraphics.com/ - I have included this site because this person has set up the navigation of the site in a very direct style. See what you think about how the various components (resume, academic work, artifacts, etc) are presented.
http://www.millikin.edu/webmaster/portfolio/portfolio.html - This is a listing of what Milliken University has suggested for its students' electronic portfolios. Look at the sections; perhaps you will want to consider some of those. http://www.career-recruit.fsu.edu/careerportfolio/enter/output/main.html - This site shows an example from a business major at Florida State University. http://www.uwrf.edu/ccs/sites/l_portfolio/lisapage1.html - This is an electronic portfolios for a counseling major at University Wisconsin - River Falls. http://www.uwrf.edu/ccs/sites/deanna/Page1.html - This is an example from a marketing communications major at University Wisconsin - River Falls. http://dir.yahoo.com/Arts/Design_Arts/Textiles/Artists/Personal_Exhibits/ - This contains some exhibits and artifacts from textile majors/specialists. http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Business_to_Business/Design/Illustration/Fashion_Illustrators/ - Here are some examples from fashion designers. Towson University also has come examples that may be helpful to you. http://www.towson.edu/~pryan/eportfolio/design.htm and here are some examples from that program.
