CNET features - techno - 20 questions: how the Net works
The Internet is a tool that comes with few instructions. Most of us are let loose on it while we're still scratching our heads.                      What is the Internet backbone? Should you be worried about browser cookies? Aren't ActiveX and Java basically the same                      thing? What is an intranet? Could people you don't know be  reading your email? Who is Veronica, and what is she doing on                  the Net? Why is everyone talking about "push"? For anyone who wonders about these things, we've prepared 20 questions and 20 corresponding answers to help you sort through the basics.
Creative Good: Help Pages
This site has good information on various technology-related topics that might, at some point, be useful to you as a reference as you continue to use technology for your own productivity and for teaching.
Internet In-Sites
This is a monthly newsletter published mid-month, September through May.  It is a technology newsletter for educators, primarily in overseas schools, but it has gained a wide readership in the U.S.A. as well.  It also has a growing reader population among non-educators as it has practical tips and information on various technology topics, such as digital cameras, scanners, software. etc. It is a good resource when a need arises; use the archived issues, too.
George E. Lucas Foundation
This site deals primarily with educational activities, but it's a cool site so you might like to run by it now and then. PLUS... I am on their Advisory Board, think their stuff is great and really admire the organization, as well as Mr. Lucas himself! AND.. by the way...yes, I have been to Skywalker Ranch!
The MAIS PLACE, An Online Professional Development Clearing House
This is an online clearing house for educators overseas (and in the USA),  developed and supported by The Mediterranean Association of International Schools (MAIS), with headquarters in Madrid, Spain.  This online clearing house has links to degree programs, courses, workshops and other professional development resources.
